The Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department has eight parks that offer opportunities to enjoy nature and recreational programs.

C. G. Hill Memorial Park
This 70-acre park is an excellent location for small group gatherings. The gazebo/courtyard is nestled in the woods and landscaped with shrubs and flowering plants overlooking the lake with its water spray in the center. At the other end of the lake is the 500+ year old yellow poplar tree. This tree was growing when Columbus set sail for America.

Horizons Park Horizons Park
492 acres of rolling wooded hills and natural beauty make up the tranquil setting of Horizons Park. This county-wide facility was purchased by Forsyth County in late 1977 from Horizons Residential Care Center. It is Forsyth Park System's largest facility and has been developed to retain its appeal to families and nature lovers.

Triad Park
Triad Park is a joint venture of Forsyth and Guilford Counties. A total of 426 acres have been bought by the counties as a regional centerpiece park which has nature based park facilities nestled in the woods and meadows.

Tanglewood Park
Tanglewood Park is a golf course and park in Forsyth County, North Carolina. It is located on the Yadkin River between Clemmons and Bermuda Run. It is home to the annual "Tanglewood Festival of Lights", a magnificent display of lights in the wintertime celebrating the holidays. Additional attractions include the Tanglewood Park Arboretum and Rose Garden.

Old Salem
Old Salem is a living history museum that operates within the restored Moravian community Salem. The non-profit organization named Old Salem began its work in earnest in 1950; however, the buildings and lands are still owned by the Moravian Church. Salem was originally settled in 1766 by the Moravians. The community merged with nearby Winston many years later, in 1913, and many of Salem's historic buildings remain.

SciWorks
SciWorks, the Science Center and Environmental Park of Forsyth County is a science museum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Although it is geared primarily towards children from preschool up to eighth grade, it has offerings for all ages. It began in 1964 as the Nature Science Center of Forsyth County, started by the local Junior League; the museum was originally housed in a barn at Reynolda Village. In 1971, the Nature Science Center moved to its present location at West Hanes Mill Road.
