The Winston-Salem and Forsyth County School District has over 70 schools, and serves about 48,300 students every year. WSFCS was formed in 1963 by the merger of the Forsyth County School System and Winston-Salem School System. WSFCS is now the fifth largest school system in North Carolina, and the 99th largest in the United States.
